Job Overview:
We are seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Associate to independently and efficiently evaluate, investigate, and resolve assigned claims in accordance with legal statutes, policy provisions, and company guidelines.
Compensation: $24.00 - $28.00 / HR Location: Suffolk County, New York
Responsibilities:
Independently evaluate, investigate, and resolve assigned claims in accordance with legal statutes and company guidelines
Promptly investigate claims, from basic to complex, ensuring timely compensability determinations
Identify potential fraud indicators and notify management for further investigation
Negotiate settlements within granted authority and process award payments accurately
Communicate effectively with clients, claimants, medical professionals, attorneys, and insurers
Analyze and apply Workers’ Compensation Law Judge rulings to outstanding medical bills
Maintain current knowledge of NY Workers’ Compensation processes, regulations, and forms
Establish and maintain a follow-up system for timely reimbursement of cases
Ensure productivity goals, working on a minimum of 5 cases per day
Communicate proactively with internal departments and external stakeholders for issue resolution
Qualifications:
Minimum 2-5 years of workers’ compensation billing experience
Understanding of no-fault and workers’ compensation regulations in NY
Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and compliance
