Job Overview - Substance Use Specialist (IMT):
Join our client in New York, NY, as a Substance Use Specialist, supporting individuals with Co-Occurring Disorders through case management and harm reduction. Manage a caseload, facilitate program participation, and connect clients with community health services.
Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000/year
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities as the Substance Use Specialist (IMT):
Support Groups: Plan, lead, and document activities for the Co-Occurring Disorder (CoD) support group.
Harm Reduction: Serve as a consultant on harm reduction services and liaise with relevant programs.
Case Management: Manage a caseload of IMT clients, conduct assessments, and formulate treatment goals.
Client Support: Facilitate client participation in entitlement programs, psychiatric services, and rehabilitation activities.
Field Work: Visit clients in various settings, including residential facilities, hospitals, and on the street.
Qualifications for the Substance Use Specialist (IMT):
Education: Master’s in Social Work or related field with substance use experience (Bachelor’s with CASAC certification considered).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
Attributes: Strong case management skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-based model.
