Job Overview - Substance Abuse Counselor:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of those struggling with substance abuse? We're looking for a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team in Bronx, NY. You'll be providing critical assessments, counseling, and referrals to help clients on their path to recovery.
Location: Bronx, NY
Compensation: $22/hour
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Sunday to Thursday
Responsibilities as the Substance Abuse Counselor:
Conduct initial and annual substance abuse assessments.
Develop and revise comprehensive service plans with clients and staff.
Provide individual and group substance abuse counseling.
Offer advocacy and referrals to community-based substance abuse programs.
Document all services provided in a timely manner.
Participate in training, workshops, seminars, and case conferences.
Arrange for in-patient substance abuse treatment.
Educate clients and staff on harm reduction techniques.
Qualifications for the Substance Abuse Counselor:
3 to 5 years of substance abuse counseling experience.
Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) or CASAC-T, or LCSW.
Experience with individuals with HIV/AIDS, chronic mental illness, and/or chemical dependence is a plus.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
