Job Description
Job Overview - Speech and Language Pathologist:
Join our team as a Speech and Language Pathologist, providing specialized therapy and assessments to support students' educational and developmental goals. This rewarding role involves working closely with children and their families, delivering essential speech and language services.
Location: New York, NY (Candidate can choose between Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx or Staten Island)
Compensation: $42-$45/hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Responsibilities as the Speech and Language Pathologist:
- Conduct and analyze speech and language assessments, preparing detailed reports.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans, monitoring and documenting progress.
- Utilize and provide training on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices.
- Perform oral motor assessments and create treatment plans for identified disabilities.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate progress with parents and team members.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and initial evaluation processes.
- Supervise students and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates as needed.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
Qualifications for the Speech and Language Pathologist:
- Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
- Current NY State license in Speech and Language Pathology.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency.
- NYSED Certification as a Teacher of Speech and Hard of Hearing (TSHH) required.
- Knowledge of AAC devices and techniques preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and maintain confidentiality.
- Experience in school programs or home settings preferred.
