Job Overview - Special Education Occupational Therapist:
Our healthcare client is seeking an experienced Special Education Specialist to provide tailored services to a diverse population, primarily preschoolers on the autism spectrum. This role involves delivering high-quality care and maintaining accurate records while working within a school setting.
Location: Bronx, NY
Compensation: $68,000 - $73,000/year
Schedule: 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities as the Special Education Occupational Therapist:
Educational Services: Provide specialized education services to preschoolers and adolescents, primarily those on the autism spectrum.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using the EasyTrac EMR system.
Student Engagement: Conduct up to 10 sessions per day, managing a caseload of approximately 25 children.
Flexibility: Perform make-up sessions or adjust the provider list as needed when children are absent.
Collaboration: Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
Qualifications for the Special Education Occupational Therapist:
Licensure: New York State license in Special Education or relevant field.
Experience: Preferably with a focus on working with children, especially those on the autism spectrum.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with EMR systems, particularly EasyTrac.
