Job Overview - Registered Nurse:
Step into a fulfilling role as a Registered Nurse, where you'll make a significant impact on the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Based in Brooklyn, NY, you'll be part of an interdisciplinary team, providing essential health services and support.
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Compensation: $55-$63/hour
Schedule: Flexible, with on-call requirements
Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse Include:
Health Care Coordination: Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team, arranging medical services and issuing referrals.
Medical Follow-Up: Provide follow-up on medical issues and conduct training for staff on various health-related topics.
Infection Control: Handle control of communicable diseases and infections through assessment, reporting, and implementing preventive measures.
Medication Administration: Administer medications and supervise certified staff in medication administration.
Documentation and Training: Prepare and maintain medical records, supervise and train Licensed Practical Nurses and less experienced RNs.
Emergency Response: Provide first aid and emergency care as needed.
Patient Visits: Transport and visit individuals at home as necessary, attending team meetings and required in-services.
Qualifications of the Registered Nurse Include:
Education: BSN required. Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Experience: Minimum one year as a Registered Nurse, preferably with community-based health services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Licensure: Valid New York State RN license and registration. CPR Certification required.
Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact effectively with various stakeholders.
