Job Description

Job Overview - Registered Nurse (Young Adults):
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Community Treatment team in New York, NY. As the Registered Nurse, you will provide critical health services, medication management, and psychoeducation to young adults (ages 18-25) with serious mental illnesses and co-occurring substance use disorders.

Location: New York, NY
Compensation: $95,000/year
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday


Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse Include:
  • Community-Based Health Services: Provide medication management, health assessments, and psychoeducation in the community. Administer medications, monitor side effects, perform phlebotomy, and coordinate health care services.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Complete and sign progress notes, nursing assessments, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with NYS OMH regulations, NYC DOHMH guidelines, and Medicaid billing standards.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate medication management, health care services, and administration schedules. Work with family and community service providers, including hospitals, housing providers, and criminal justice personnel.
  • Team Participation: Attend and participate in team meetings and clinical discussions to address clients’ needs. Use motivational interviewing and trauma-informed approaches in service delivery.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as required by the Team Leader and senior clinical leadership.
Qualifications for the Registered Nurse Include:
  • Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with current New York State license.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience working with young adults (ages 18-25) in psychiatric nursing, substance use treatment, social services for individuals experiencing homelessness, justice involvement, or limited social support.
  • Skills: Extensive knowledge of community treatment, support services, and resources. Highly organized and self-motivated.
  • Preferred: Fluency in Spanish.
