Job Overview – Registered Nurse (Group Home & Community Care):
Compensation: $58/hour
Location: Queens, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (On-Site/Community-Based)
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Registered Nurse (Group Home & Community Care) with our client in Queens, NY. In this community-based role, you will provide clinical oversight across multiple group homes, conduct on-site assessments, and ensure high-quality care. You will lead AMAAP training, review charts for accuracy and compliance, and support staff in medication administration and clinical best practices. Ideal for nurses with strong assessment skills and the ability to travel between sites.
Responsibilities as the Registered Nurse:
Clinical Oversight: Supervise nursing care across multiple group homes, ensuring medical, safety, and regulatory compliance.
AMAAP Training: Lead AMAAP medication administration training for medical coordinators and oversee proper documentation practices.
Chart & Record Review: Complete routine chart audits and medical record reviews to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
Staff Support & Guidance: Provide clinical direction, coaching, and support to medical coordinators, direct support staff, and supervisors.
Assessments & Care Coordination: Perform health assessments and medication reviews while coordinating care with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Qualifications for the Registered Nurse:
Education: ASN required (BSN preferred).
Licensure: Active RN license in New York State required.
Experience: 1+ year of nursing experience in medical-surgical, long-term care, group home, or community health settings.
Technical Skills: Proficient in EMR systems and documentation workflows, with strong clinical assessment and medication management skills.
Industry Knowledge: Familiar with OPWDD regulations, group home clinical standards, medication administration procedures, and compliance requirements.
Skills & Attributes: Compassionate, detail-oriented nurse with strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills; able to work independently in community settings.
Additional: Must have a car and the ability to travel between group home locations throughout Queens.
