Job Overview – Registered Nurse, Med Surg/Tele (RN):
Our client is looking for a skilled Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse to join their dedicated healthcare team. This temporary role offers the chance to work with a diverse patient population, providing top-notch medical-surgical and telemetry care.
Compensation: $48/hour Location: Des Moines, IA
Schedule: Flexible Day/Night Shifts
Responsibilities as the Registered Nurse, Med Surg/Tele (RN):
Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct comprehensive assessments and monitor patients' vital signs, utilizing telemetry equipment to track cardiac rhythms and other key indicators.
Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while monitoring patient responses.
Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, adjusting as needed based on patient progress and needs.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care to ensure understanding and compliance.
Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes to support continuity of care.
Qualifications for the Registered Nurse, Med Surg/Tele (RN):
Experience: Up to 1 year of experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry nursing setting.
Certifications: Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certifications are required.
Skills: Strong clinical and critical thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency with telemetry equipment.
