Job Overview - Vice President of Health Services:
Our client is looking for a seasoned and committed Vice President of Health Services to lead their healthcare team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in pediatric healthcare and foster care settings, with a deep understanding of regulatory standards. This pivotal role is integral to maintaining the highest standards of care and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations across various programs.

Location: New York, NY
Compensation: $160,000 - $175,000/year
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday


Responsibilities as the Vice President of Health Services:
  • Supervision and Oversight: Lead and manage the Health Service Team, including the Director and Assistant Director of Nursing.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure facilities comply with city, state, and federal regulations, oversee Article 29-I application and implementation.
  • Quality Assurance: Serve on the Compliance and Incident Risk Management committee, update health services policies, and implement Trauma Informed Care principles.
  • Budget Management: Oversee Medicaid budgets in coordination with the Finance Department and Medicaid Quality Assurance.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver health-related training for staff and participants, including youth sex education.
  • Emergency Response: Be on call for emergencies and represent the agency at external meetings.
  • Trauma-Informed Practices: Implement trauma-informed practices using Sanctuary Model tools.
  • Collaboration: Work with Human Resources, Facilities, and other departments, and maintain connections with funders and health resources.
Qualifications for the Vice President of Health Services:
  • Licensure: New York State Unrestricted Registered Nurse Licensure.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in leadership roles in Child Welfare, Foster Care, or Social Services; 2-3 years of clinical pediatric experience; experience with Medicaid Managed Care preferred.
  • Skills: Nursing administrative experience, proficiency in electronic health records and new health policies, excellent written and verbal communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attributes: Strong interest in working with underserved children/adolescents, commitment to strength-based/youth development perspective.
