Job Overview – RN Medical Surgical (Night Shift):
Step into a critical care role with our client as an RN Medical Surgical (Night Shift) in Bronx, NY. This overnight position is ideal for a skilled registered nurse with expertise in acute patient care, ventilator management, and emergency response. You will play a key role in developing care plans, administering treatments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit.
Compensation: $55/hour
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: Night Shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Responsibilities as the RN Medical Surgical (Night Shift):
Patient Assessment & Care Planning: Develop individualized care plans considering medical, psychosocial, and cultural factors.
Emergency Response: Initiate life-saving interventions in cardiac or respiratory emergencies.
Medication & Therapy Administration: Administer IV therapy, medications, and respiratory treatments as prescribed.
Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and families on treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation.
Documentation & Coordination: Maintain accurate records and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
Leadership & Safety: Oversee LPNs and unlicensed personnel while ensuring a safe patient environment.
Qualifications for the RN Medical Surgical (Night Shift):
Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State required.
Experience: Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience required.
Technical Proficiency: Must have EPIC EHR experience and be proficient in tracheostomy and ventilator care.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Skills & Attributes: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to multitask in high-pressure situations, and excellent patient care coordination.
