Job Overview - Psychiatrist:
Join our client in Trenton, NJ, as a Corrections Psychiatrist, where you will provide psychotherapy, diagnostic, and therapeutic services within a correctional facility. As part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, you will collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive care for inmate patients.
Psychiatric Care: Conduct assessments, evaluations, and treatment for inmate patients, including prescribing medications and managing care.
Collaboration: Work closely with mental health and medical staff to develop and review patient treatment plans.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of patient care in accordance with standards and regulations.
Leadership: Provide direction for psychiatric care delivery, contribute to program development, and supervise Advanced Practice Nurses.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to security regulations and ethical standards within the facility.
Qualifications for the Psychiatrist:
Education: MD or DO degree, with completed residency in mental health.
Licensure: Current, unrestricted license to practice psychiatry in NJ (Forensic Evaluator designation preferred).
Certifications: Valid prescriptive authority (DEA and CDS) and current CPR certification.
Experience: Experience in mental health delivery systems, preferably in a correctional environment.
Skills: Strong critical thinking, assessment, and interpersonal communication skills; proficiency in Electronic Medical Records.
