Job Overview - Psychiatric Nurse (RN):
Take on the temporary role of a skilled Psychiatric Nurse (RN) in the Bronx, NY, where you'll provide top-quality patient care within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act. In this position, you’ll deliver safe, evidence-based care while working collaboratively to ensure patient safety and support the interdisciplinary care team.
Compensation: $58/hour
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: 3 night shifts per week, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Responsibilities as the Psychiatric Nurse (RN):
Patient Care: Provide psychiatric nursing care in alignment with evidence-based practices and ethical standards.
Reporting: Identify and report safety issues, such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
Collaboration: Supervise and delegate tasks to the care team, ensuring effective collaboration.
Care Management: Utilize the nursing process to create individualized care plans for patients.
Adaptability: Collaborate across multiple units, including floating to other psych units and medical-surgical (MS) as needed.
Qualifications for the Psychiatric Nurse (RN):
Experience: 2+ years of Psychiatric Nursing experience and prior Medical-Surgical experience.
Licensure: Active NY RN license.
Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certifications.
EMR Proficiency: Experience with EPIC electronic medical records.
Unit Experience: Previous experience in a Medical Psych Unit (MPU) and ability to float between Psych and Med-Surg units.
