Job Overview - Psych Nurse Practitioner:
We are seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) with psychiatric specialization to join the team at a well-established mental health facility. This role involves splitting time between two locations, providing comprehensive mental health services to patients of all ages.
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: 16 hours per week (flexible: combination of on-site and remote work)
Compensation: $90 - $103 per hour
Responsibilities as the Psych Nurse Practitioner:
- Patient Evaluation: Obtain, evaluate, and record mental health histories; perform comprehensive mental health assessments.
- Testing and Referrals: Order necessary lab tests and EKGs; initiate referrals to specialists and other health services as needed.
- Treatment Planning: Analyze data to establish appropriate treatment plans and prescribe necessary medications within the scope of practice.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on mental health-related matters including treatments, medications, and lifestyle adjustments.
- Patient Care: Provide ongoing management for acute and chronic mental illnesses under the supervision of a physician.
- Serve pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, adapting care practices to meet diverse needs.
Qualifications for the Psych Nurse Practitioner:
- Valid CRNP license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, with a specialty in psychiatric health (PMHNP-BC).
- At least 1 year of experience in outpatient psychiatric services.
- Active DEA number required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
