Job Overview – Primary Care Physician (Infectious Diseases) Compensation: $230,000 – $260,000/year Location: Bexar County, TX Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Primary Care Physician (Infectious Diseases) in Bexar County, TX for our client, providing comprehensive primary care, infectious disease services, preventive care, and ongoing patient management within a community-based healthcare setting. This role evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a diverse patient population while supporting disease prevention, health education, and coordinated care. The ideal candidate brings strong primary care experience and an interest in infectious diseases, preventive medicine, and community health.
Responsibilities as the Primary Care Physician (Infectious Diseases):
Primary Care: Provide comprehensive medical care, including patient evaluations, physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing health management.
HIV/AIDS Care: Provide evaluation, treatment, and ongoing clinical management for patients living with HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases.
Preventive Care: Deliver preventive healthcare, health screenings, laboratory testing, immunizations, and disease prevention services based on individual patient needs.
Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical guidance to healthcare staff and support consistent, high-quality patient care.
Care Coordination: Develop treatment plans, review diagnostic results, and coordinate referrals and additional healthcare services as appropriate.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate medical records and provide care in accordance with applicable clinical and regulatory standards.
Qualifications for the Primary Care Physician (Infectious Diseases):
Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school is required, with completion of an accredited primary care residency program preferred.
Licensure: Current or eligible Texas physician license and active DEA registration are required.
Certification: Current CPR certification is required, with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine and ACLS certification preferred.
Experience: Experience managing complex patient populations is required, with public health, community health, primary care, or infectious disease experience preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of primary care, infectious disease prevention and treatment, STI management, and preventive medicine is preferred.
Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical judgment, communication, collaboration, and patient-care skills with the ability to provide culturally responsive care to diverse patient populations.
