TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Physical Therapist (Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities) in Hershey, PA for our client. In this part-time role, you will deliver patient-focused physical therapy services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting their independence and mobility. Responsibilities include evaluating functional abilities, creating personalized treatment plans, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to enhance overall health and quality of life.
Responsibilities as the Physical Therapist:
Patient Evaluation: Assess physical function, mobility, and therapeutic needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Treatment Planning: Create and implement personalized therapy plans to improve strength, coordination, balance, and mobility.
Therapeutic Interventions: Provide evidence-based treatments and assistive techniques to enhance functional outcomes.
Collaboration: Work with physicians, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Documentation: Maintain detailed therapy notes, progress reports, and records in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards.
Qualifications for the Physical Therapist:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)-accredited program required.
Licensure: Active Physical Therapist license in the state of Pennsylvania required.
Experience: Previous experience providing physical therapy to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR systems and familiarity with therapy documentation procedures.
Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, functional mobility training, and adaptive therapy practices for IDD populations.
Skills & Attributes: Compassionate, patient, and dedicated clinician with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
