Job Overview – Pharmacy Technician (Non-Sterile Compounding):
Compensation: $22/hour
Location: Chester County, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Join a high-volume compounding pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician (Non-Sterile Compounding) in Chester County, PA, supporting daily preparation, documentation, and inventory management. This full-time role with our client involves working alongside pharmacists to ensure USP compliance, uphold cleanroom standards, and support accurate medication dispensing. Experience with PK Software (The Compounder) is highly preferred.
Responsibilities as the Pharmacy Technician:
Compounding & Preparation: Accurately read prescriptions, measure ingredients, and compound medications under pharmacist supervision.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety: Follow USP <795>/<800> standards, maintain certifications, and ensure proper handling of hazardous substances.
Documentation & Quality Control: Complete detailed log sheets, support QA processes, and assist with environmental monitoring.
Inventory & Lab Maintenance: Manage raw ingredient inventory, PPE, and equipment while maintaining cleanroom protocols and aseptic technique.
Software & Communication: Use compounding software (PK), Microsoft Office, and coordinate with pharmacists and team members for efficient workflow.
Qualifications for the Pharmacy Technician:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a compounding pharmacy setting, including both non-sterile and sterile product preparation.
Certification: PTCB, CPhT, or state-issued certification preferred, with completion of sterile compounding training programs and continuing education as required.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), with preferred experience using The Compounder (PK Software).
Attributes: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strict safety and accuracy requirements.
