Job Overview - Pharmacist:
Do you have experience in hospital pharmacy settings? Join our client's healthcare team as a dedicated Pharmacist! This full-time role involves ensuring the safe and effective use of medications through order verification, assessment of medication selection, dosing regimen, administration, drug information and education, drug therapy monitoring, and drug procurement.
Location: Yuma, AZ
Compensation: $54 - $74/hour
Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities as the Pharmacist:
Medication Safety: Ensure the safe and effective use of medications through thorough order verification and assessment of medication selection, dosing regimen, and administration.
Drug Information and Education: Provide drug information and education to medical providers, nursing staff, and patients.
Therapy Monitoring: Monitor drug therapy and provide recommendations for optimal patient care.
Drug Procurement: Oversee drug procurement processes to ensure availability and proper inventory management.
Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance department operations and service outcomes.
Medication Therapy Evaluation: Evaluate medication drug therapies and supervise technician activities and medication management processes.
Preceptorship: Precept pharmacy students and oversee pharmacy residents, contributing to their education and professional development.
Qualifications for the Pharmacist:
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience, with hospital experience required in the past 2 years.
Education: Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy.
Licensure: Pharmacist Licensure in Arizona.
Hospital Experience: 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
Preferred Skills: ACLS certification, IV pharmacist/compounding pharmacist experience, and experience with Vanco AUC dosing.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with EMR systems such as EPIC, Lexicomp, and Baxter IQ.
