Job Description

Role Overview:
Join our client’s team as a Temporary Pharmacist for the months of April, May, and June. In this role, you will perform clinical and professional pharmaceutical work, including compounding and dispensing prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care. 

Compensation: $70.00 / HR
Location: Bergen County, New Jersey 
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities: 
•    Reviewing prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed
•    Preparing, filling, and compounding medications using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients
•    Answering questions and providing information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of medications
•    Entering data to maintain pharmacy files and inventory (e.g., patient name, prescribed medication, cost, etc.)
•    Maintaining and providing drug usage reports to pharmaceutical partners as requested
•    Performing PMP reporting in compliance with state requirements
•    Planning and organizing activities in pharmacy services to ensure patient needs are met in accordance with physician requests, administrative procedures, and best practices
•    Consulting with the Director of Nursing (DON) on nursing issues, problems, and interpretation of company policies
•    Engaging in continuing education activities and other CEU opportunities related to improving pharmacy services
•    Collaborating with the DOP to ensure pharmacy practices align with company goals and business development
•    Participating in state inspections and The Joint Commission (TJC) accreditation process
•    Ensuring the development, implementation, enforcement, and updating of company policies and procedures
•    Coordinating pharmacy services with nursing services to provide safe and appropriate patient care
•    Being available for on-call pharmacy consulting 24/7
•    Assisting the DOP/Pharmacy Manager in ensuring the pharmacy complies with all State and Federal laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy
•    Performing other tasks and duties as assigned by the DOP or Pharmacy Manager

Qualifications:
•    Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy
•    Current, valid, and active Pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy in New Jersey
•    Ability to obtain additional state pharmacist licensure as requested by the DOP
•    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
•    Proficiency in all applicable software programs and systems utilized by the organization
