Job Overview - Per-Diem Nurse (RN):
Our client in New York, NY, is seeking a Per-Diem Nurse (RN) to join their expanding healthcare team. You'll provide patient care from admission through recovery, assist in the procedure room, and manage inventory, ensuring quality care throughout the patient's visit.
Compensation: $58 - $63/hour
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Rotating Saturdays)
Responsibilities as the Per-Diem Nurse (RN):
Patient Admission: Greet patients, verify identity, and perform pre-procedure assessments, including vital signs and IV catheter insertion.
Assistance: Assist physicians during procedures, offering emotional support to patients and ensuring proper documentation of the procedure and medications.
Recovery Monitoring: Oversee patient recovery, checking vital signs, following physician orders, and ensuring patients meet discharge criteria.
Equipment: Maintain medical instruments, emergency carts, and monitor patient-related equipment for proper functionality.
Documentation: Accurately document all aspects of patient care and provide clear discharge instructions and follow-up guidance to patients and their escorts.
Qualifications for the Per-Diem Nurse (RN):
Education: BS in Nursing or equivalent college degree required.
Licensure: Current RN license in New York State.
Experience: 4+ years in Endo, Surgery, Ambulatory, or OR settings, with preferred experience in GI admitting, procedural, or recovery roles.
Certifications: ACLS certified (or BLS with willingness to obtain ACLS within specified time).
Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage emergency protocols and ensure high-quality patient care.
