Job Overview – Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist
Compensation: $47/hour
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in Brooklyn, NY for our client, supporting speech and language therapy services for children in a school-based setting. In this role, you will provide therapy aligned with IEPs and IFSPs, support communication and developmental milestones, and collaborate with families, educators, and interdisciplinary teams. You will utilize assistive technology and AAC devices to enhance treatment outcomes while delivering consistent, patient-centered care in a structured environment.
Responsibilities as the Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist:
Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct speech and language assessments to determine developmental levels and therapy needs.
Intervention Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with student goals and educational standards.
Progress Monitoring: Track outcomes using testing and progress tools, preparing reports for parents, educators, and stakeholders.
Collaboration & Communication: Partner with families, teachers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistent support for children.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate therapy notes, progress records, and documentation in line with school and regulatory standards.
Qualifications for the Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist:
Education: Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology required.
Experience: 1+ year of pediatric or school-based speech therapy experience required.
Licensure: Current New York State license in Speech and Language Pathology required.
Certification: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP) and NYSED Certification as a Teacher of Speech and Hard of Hearing (TSHH) required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in assistive technology and augmentative communication devices preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of regulatory standards, IEP/IFSP requirements, and best practices in pediatric educational speech therapy.
Skills & Attributes: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and maintain confidentiality.
