Job Overview - Occupational Therapist:
Join our team as an Occupational Therapist, where you will evaluate and treat children with developmental and intellectual disabilities, aiding their rehabilitation and fostering independence in daily living skills. We're looking for a dedicated professional who is passionate about making a difference.
Location: New York, NY (Bronx, Brooklyn or Queens)
Compensation: $42-$45/hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Responsibilities as the Occupational Therapist:
Evaluate and treat students to enhance their daily living skills and independence.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Facilitate educational, recreational, and social activities tailored to students' needs.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews.
Document therapy activities, monitor progress, and update records.
Refer students to other clinical services when appropriate.
Design and fit adaptive devices as needed.
Train and instruct program staff on therapeutic techniques.
Provide supervision to students and Occupational Therapy Assistants.
Qualifications for the Occupational Therapist:
Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred.
Current NYS license in Occupational Therapy.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
