Job Overview – Occupational Therapist:
Join our client as an Occupational Therapist in Brooklyn, NY, where you'll design and administer therapy programs to enhance function, alleviate discomfort, and prevent disabilities in medically referred participants. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse and elderly population, collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to improve participants' quality of life.
Compensation: $99,000 - $113,000/year
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Responsibilities as the Occupational Therapist:
Participant Evaluations: Conduct evaluations and develop tailored treatment plans for participants referred by providers.
Care Plan Collaboration: Work with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement care plans, ensuring regulatory compliance.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including evaluations, progress notes, care plans, and discharge summaries.
Clinical Practice: Provide therapy at the PACE site, participants' homes, or other facilities while adhering to safety protocols.
Training and Education: Provide clinical instruction to COTAs, students, and volunteers; lead staff in-service training.
Qualifications for the Occupational Therapist:
Education: Successful completion of an Occupational Therapy program with a Bachelor's degree required.
Licensure: New York State licensure as a Registered Occupational Therapist is required.
Experience: At least 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapist with geriatric or frail populations.
Skills: Proficient in OT modalities and equipment usage, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with participants and staff.
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of PACE regulations and experience with EMRs.
Additional: Ability to travel to participants’ homes, nursing facilities, and clinic sites.
Preferred: Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred.
