Role Overview:
Our client’s hospital is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive medical care to their pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients. The successful candidate will have pediatric experience and work collaboratively with our medical team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Compensation: $130,000.00
Location: Long Island City, New York
Schedule: Monday - Friday (no weekends)
Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
• Provide medical care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients
• Take relevant patient histories and identify needs/diagnoses
• Develop and implement treatment plans using diagnostic data
• Perform well-care exams, physical exams, and gynecological exams
• Prescribe medications and educate patients on usage
• Complete medical documentation and referral tracking
• Collaborate with physicians and specialists for consultation and referral
• Meet regularly with supervising physician for recommendations and quality assurance
• Participate in peer review process per Floating Hospital guidelines
• Provide health education on preventive care, chronic diseases, parenting, nutrition, etc.
• Engage in patient advocacy and outreach as appropriate for site
Administrative Duties:
• Observe and promote HIPAA regulations and hospital policies/procedures
• Supervise and educate medical assistants on patient care and triage
• Participate in case conferences discussing patient care
• Assist Chief Medical Officer in developing medical protocols and forms
• Initiate and participate in healthcare-related research
• Make suggestions to improve patient care delivery
Qualifications:
• Unrestricted NY State Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience preferred
• Pediatric experience required
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and computer applications
• Bilingual Spanish language skills strongly preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and patient advocacy skills
