Job Overview – Mental Health Specialist (MSW):
Step into a meaningful role with our client as a Mental Health Specialist (MSW) in Philadelphia, PA. In this position, you will provide clinical supervision, coordinate treatment services, and support individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. This role involves community-based engagement, direct client interventions, and collaborative treatment planning to ensure comprehensive mental health support.

Compensation: $28/hour
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM


Responsibilities as the Mental Health Specialist (MSW):
  • Caseload Management: Oversee a caseload of approximately 10 participants, ensuring individualized treatment and support.
  • Service Coordination: Facilitate case management, coordinating and monitoring treatment activities, including home-based visitations across Philadelphia County (75% community-based work).
  • Therapeutic Support: Provide individual supportive therapy, role-playing, social skills training, and assertiveness coaching to enhance community engagement.
  • Clinical Supervision: Guide assessment and treatment planning while providing professional support to the Team Leader.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Deliver services in adherence to agency guidelines and contract requirements.
Qualifications for the Mental Health Specialist (MSW):
  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Sciences or Healthcare required, with post-secondary education, internships, or supervised practical experience in clinical or rehabilitation settings.
  • Experience: Prior experience in community-based mental health services, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), or Intensive Case Coordination Management (ICCM) preferred.
  • Skills and Attributes: Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills, with the ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, with experience with electronic health records preferred.
  • Licensure: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
