Job Description

Job Overview – Mental Health Specialist (MSW):
Take on a pivotal role as a Mental Health Specialist (MSW) with our client in Philadelphia, PA. This position involves providing clinical supervision, service coordination, and individual support to participants with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Work collaboratively within a community-focused setting to empower participants toward greater independence and well-being.

Compensation: $27/hour
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM


Responsibilities as the Mental Health Specialist (MSW):
  • Clinical Supervision: Provide assessment, treatment planning, and backup support to the Team Leader.
  • Service Coordination: Manage an assigned caseload by coordinating and monitoring treatment activities, including home-based and community visitations (approximately 75% of work is performed in the field).
  • Therapeutic Support: Deliver individual supportive therapy, social skill development, and assertiveness training to enhance participants' interpersonal and community engagement.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure services are delivered in accordance with contract guidelines and agency regulations, maintaining high standards of care and documentation.
Qualifications for the Mental Health Specialist (MSW):
  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Healthcare, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: Post-secondary training, including internships or supervised clinical experiences with individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness, is required.
  • Licensure: Must possess a valid driver’s license to facilitate community-based services.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to build trusting relationships with participants, and proven competence in independent and team-based work.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required, with experience in electronic health records (EHR) and fee-for-service models.
  • Attributes: Highly organized, goal-oriented, and capable of meeting daily productivity standards.
