Job Overview – Mental Health Crisis Co-Responder Coordinator:
Compensation: $29 – $39/hour
Location: Flint, MI
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Mental Health Crisis Co-Responder Coordinator in Flint, MI for our client. This community-based role provides immediate mental health crisis response, assessment, and intervention while coordinating access to care and support services. Ideal candidates are licensed behavioral health professionals with experience in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and community collaboration.
Responsibilities as the Mental Health Crisis Co-Responder Coordinator:
Crisis Response: Conduct on-site assessments and co-respond with law enforcement to address mental health emergencies.
Therapeutic Intervention: Provide immediate, evidence-based support and recommend appropriate treatment or referrals.
Interagency Collaboration: Partner with law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community agencies to coordinate crisis response.
Clinical Evaluation: Assess individual needs and determine appropriate care or intervention plans.
Community Outreach: Deliver education and consultation to community partners while maintaining accurate, confidential documentation.
Qualifications for the Mental Health Crisis Co-Responder Coordinator:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or Nursing required.
Licensure: Active LLBSW, LBSW, LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, LPC, LLP, TLLP, or RN credential in the State of Michigan required.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience providing crisis or clinical mental health services to adults and children with developmental disabilities, mental illness, or co-occurring disorders.
Certification: CAC, CAADC, or CCDP-D through MCBAP preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficient in crisis assessment, de-escalation, safety planning, and EMR documentation.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of MDHHS qualifications, crisis intervention models, community mental health systems, and trauma-informed care.
Skills & Attributes: Calm, compassionate, and collaborative professional with strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
