Job Overview – Medical Surgical RN (Night Shift):
Compensation: $45/hour
Location: Chattanooga, TN
Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Medical Surgical RN (Night Shift) in Chattanooga, TN for our client. In this role, you will provide high-quality care to adult med-surg patients, perform assessments, administer medications, document in the EHR, and coordinate care for multiple patients in a fast-paced hospital setting while ensuring safety and clinical excellence throughout the night shift.
Responsibilities as the Medical Surgical RN (Night Shift):
Patient Care Delivery: Provide individualized, evidence-based nursing care to med-surg patients and support optimal clinical outcomes.
Care Coordination: Manage multiple patients at once, prioritize care needs, and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
Medication & Treatment Management: Administer medications safely, document accurately, and follow hospital protocols.
Patient Support & Documentation: Advocate for patients, provide emotional support, maintain accurate EHR documentation, and uphold quality and safety standards.
Qualifications for the Medical Surgical RN (Night Shift):
Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee required or multistate privileges under the eNLC, in good standing.
Certification: American Heart Association BLS required (ACLS required within 6 months of hire).
Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required (Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred).
Experience: At least 1 year of acute care nursing experience, preferably in medical-surgical or a comparable inpatient setting.
Skills & Attributes: Strong critical-thinking abilities, effective communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity hospital environment while managing multiple priorities.
