Job Overview - Medical Lab Scientist:
Join our client's healthcare team as a Medical Lab Scientist. This full-time role involves performing a variety of laboratory tests in hematology, serology, chemistry, coagulation, and more. If you have the necessary certifications or extensive experience in the field, we encourage you to apply!
Location: Yuma, AZ
Compensation: $30 - $38/hour
Schedule: (Flexible Shifts)
Responsibilities as the Medical Lab Scientist:
Generalist Duties: Perform tests in hematology, serology, chemistry, coagulation, and urinalysis.
Microbiology: Conduct molecular testing, limited microbiology tasks such as gram staining, and use kits for serology.
Lab Testing: Execute accurate and timely laboratory tests following standard procedures and protocols.
Data Management: Record and analyze test results using EPIC, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Quality Assurance: Maintain quality control standards and adhere to laboratory safety protocols.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper functioning of laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any issues.
Qualifications for the Medical Lab Scientist:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science or related field, or Associate's Degree with MLS certification.
Experience: Minimum of 6 months of clinical experience or successful completion of a six-month clinical rotation within an MLS/MT program. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist in an acute care setting.
Certifications: 1 or more national certifications in lab
Technical Skills: Experience with Siemens Atellic, manual differentials, and EPIC.
Medical Skills: Proficient in hematology, serology, chemistry, coagulation, and urinalysis.
