Job Overview – Medical Director:
Compensation: $325,000 – $350,000/year
Location: Worcester, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Our client is hiring a Medical Director in Worcester, MA to lead clinical operations and deliver outpatient psychiatric care for a mission-driven behavioral health organization. This leadership role is ideal for a board-certified psychiatrist with expertise in clinical program management, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and team leadership. You’ll guide medical staff, provide direct patient care, drive strategic initiatives, and represent the organization across community and professional settings.
Responsibilities as the Medical Director:
Clinical Oversight: Lead all medical activities, ensuring compliance with best practices, regulatory standards, and quality of care.
Program Development: Guide new service design and system improvements to meet community needs.
Direct Patient Care: Provide outpatient psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and consultations.
Leadership & Supervision: Recruit, manage, and mentor physicians and clinical staff to foster an integrated, patient-centered environment.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality: Oversee agency-wide compliance and develop quality assurance initiatives to promote safety and accountability.
Representation & Partnerships: Act as liaison to the executive team, engage with community partners, and represent the agency in external forums.
Qualifications for the Medical Director:
Education: Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution required.
Licensure: Current, valid, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Massachusetts.
Certification: Must be board-certified in Psychiatry and hold a valid DEA certificate.
Compliance: Must have no Medicare or Medicaid sanctions and a satisfactory report from the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB).
Experience: 5+ years of clinical and administrative experience in behavioral health leadership roles.
Technical Skills: Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and modern clinical technologies.
Skills & Attributes: Collaborative, high-energy leader with strong communication, decision-making, and regulatory compliance expertise, able to manage priorities and build positive team dynamics.
