Job Overview – Medical Director (Pediatrics):
Join our client as a Medical Director (Pediatrics) in Queens, NY. This leadership role is ideal for a board-certified pediatrician with expertise in child welfare healthcare, integrated medical and behavioral care, and clinical team supervision. You will oversee medical services for children in foster care, ensuring they receive high-quality, comprehensive healthcare, while also leading a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff.

Compensation: $200,000 – $210,000/year
Location: Queens, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM


Responsibilities as the Medical Director (Pediatrics):
  • Pediatric Care & Treatment: Conduct medical evaluations, manage illnesses, and oversee preventive care.
  • Clinical Leadership: Supervise physicians, NPs, and RNs, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Behavioral Health Coordination: Collaborate on psychiatric care, medication management, and follow-ups.
  • Medical Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation and ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Specialist & Emergency Coordination: Liaise with specialists, hospitals, and emergency providers.
  • Education & Quality Improvement: Train caregivers and staff while leading policy and quality initiatives.
Qualifications for the Medical Director (Pediatrics):
  • Education: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution required.
  • Licensure: Active New York State Medical License in Pediatrics and Child & Adolescent Medicine required.
  • Certifications: Board certification in Pediatrics or Child & Adolescent Medicine and current CPR certification required.
  • Experience: 5+ years in pediatric care, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role, with experience in child welfare, foster care, or community health preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in AccuMed or other electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Skills & Attributes: Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, with strong leadership, clinical decision-making, and a passion for pediatric healthcare and child advocacy.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish proficiency is a plus but not required.
