Job Description
Job Overview - Medical Assistant:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to support patients and the clinical team at a designated health center. In this role, you will assist with medical care under the direction of the nursing and medical staff, ensuring high-quality service and adherence to the center's objectives and policies.
Location: Westchester, NY
Compensation: $25/hour
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities as the Medical Assistant:
- Daily Testing: Take vital signs, conduct vision and hearing tests, and record patient data in the electronic health record system.
- Laboratory Work: Perform in-house labs, quality control, equipment maintenance, draw blood, collect specimens, and conduct routine tests.
- Exam Room Preparation: Prepare exam rooms, assist during examinations, and ensure clinical areas are stocked and organized.
- Equipment Sterilization: Clean and sterilize equipment according to policies and guidelines.
- Clerical Work: Handle basic clerical duties, answer phones, communicate concerns to nursing staff, and manage telephone inquiries.
- Record Keeping: Maintain logs and records for laboratory tests and perform EKGs.
Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:
- Education: High School diploma/GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate required; Associate's degree with Medical Assistant National Certificate preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
