Job Overview – Medical Assistant Compensation: $18 – $21/hour Location: Tampa, FL (In-Office) Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Medical Assistant in Tampa, FL for our client, supporting front office operations and patient care within an outpatient medical practice. This role focuses on patient intake, scheduling, insurance verification, and basic clinical support while ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. The position offers stability, strong team collaboration, and the opportunity to grow within a large, established healthcare organization.
Responsibilities as the Medical Assistant:
Patient Intake: Greet patients, manage check-in/check-out, and ensure a positive front office experience.
Insurance Verification: Verify insurance coverage and assist with prior authorizations and referrals.
Clinical Support: Room patients, take vital signs, and assist physicians as needed.
Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records within the EMR system.
Administrative Support: Perform chart prep, handle patient communications, and assist with office operations.
Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: Prior medical assistant or healthcare administrative experience is required.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of medical terminology and front office workflows is preferred.
Technical Skills: Experience with EMR systems (Athena preferred; EPIC exposure a plus) and Microsoft Office is preferred.
Skills & Attributes: Strong communication, organization, and professionalism with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are required.
