Job Overview – Medical Assistant:
Our healthcare client seeks a Medical Assistant to support their expanding Primary Care Department. This full-time role is essential for delivering exceptional care to adult and pediatric patients, including those who are gender-diverse.
Location: Hampshire County, MA
Compensation: $22 - $26/hour
Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities as the Medical Assistant:
Patient Coordination: Work closely with primary care and mental health providers to ensure comprehensive patient care, including rooming patients, obtaining histories, and managing referrals.
Clinical Support: Conduct phlebotomy, EKGs, and other relevant procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and critical thinking in patient care.
Care Planning: Anticipate and prepare for patients' chronic care and health maintenance needs, utilizing decision-making skills to support their health goals.
Administrative Tasks: Oversee the flow of patient care sessions, manage prior authorizations, monitor clinical messaging, and update medical records under provider guidance.
Practice Environment: Play a role in maintaining an organized and efficient practice environment, including participating in quality assurance and stocking supplies.
Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 2 years in a primary care or healthcare setting.
Skills: Strong multitasking, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred: CMA certification and experience with the transgender/gender-diverse community.
Attributes: Compassionate, team-oriented, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
