Job Overview – Medical Assistant (Scribe):
Our client is seeking a Medical Assistant (Scribe) to join their Mental Health Department in Northampton, MA. This full-time role supports both adult and pediatric patients, including transgender and gender-diverse individuals, ensuring exceptional mental health care.
Compensation: $22 - $26/hour Location: Northampton, MA
Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities as the Medical Assistant (Scribe):
Patient Coordination: Collaborate with Mental Health and Primary Care providers to manage patient care, including rooming patients, obtaining histories, and arranging referrals.
Clinical Documentation: Document patient histories, exams, lab results, and procedures in pre- and post-charting, ensuring all information is accurate and comprehensive.
Care Planning: Assist with chronic mental health care and maintenance, using critical thinking to help patients meet their health needs.
Schedule Management: Oversee provider schedules, make decisions on adding patients, and maintain efficient workflow during care sessions.
Administrative Support: Prepare prior authorizations, monitor clinical messaging, update medical records, and act as a liaison between patients, providers, and the organization.
Qualifications for the Medical Assistant (Scribe):
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 2 years in a Mental Health or healthcare setting required.
Skills: Strong multitasking, advanced typing/computer skills, and excellent communication skills.
Preferred: CMA certification and experience with transgender/gender-diverse and neurodiversity populations.
