TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (Pediatrics) in Westchester County, NY for our client, supporting pediatric patients within a residential and medical care environment. This role will provide direct nursing care, treatment administration, medication support, and ongoing clinical monitoring for foster children, medically fragile children, and residents requiring specialized medical services. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and experienced working within pediatric, residential, or long-term care settings.
Responsibilities as the Licensed Practical Nurse (Pediatrics):
Direct Patient Care: Provide hands-on nursing care and administer treatments in accordance with physician orders and care plans.
Medication Administration: Administer medications, monitor treatment responses, and maintain accurate medication documentation.
Clinical Monitoring: Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and treatment progress while communicating updates to the clinical team.
Treatment Support: Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and other nursing procedures as needed.
Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and multidisciplinary teams to support comprehensive patient care.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure adherence to infection control standards, facility policies, and healthcare regulations.
Qualifications for the Licensed Practical Nurse (Pediatrics):
Education: Practical Nursing diploma from an accredited program is required.
Licensure: Active New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license is required.
Experience: Prior nursing experience within pediatrics, residential care, long-term care, behavioral health, or medically fragile populations is preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with medication administration, treatment planning, and patient documentation practices is preferred.
Skills & Attributes: Strong communication skills, compassion, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary care environment are required.
