Job Overview – Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Pediatrics:
Join our client as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Pediatrics in Queens, NY, providing high-quality care to children in a supportive clinical setting. This temporary role is ideal for an experienced LPN with pediatric and child welfare expertise, focusing on health assessments, treatment administration, caregiver education, and collaboration with behavioral health providers.

Compensation: $40/hour
Location: Queens, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM


Responsibilities as the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
  • Health Assessments & Screenings: Perform intake evaluations, HIV risk assessments, developmental screenings, and physical examinations.
  • Chronic Condition & Medication Management: Assist with diabetes and asthma care, provide patient education, and ensure accurate medication documentation.
  • Pediatric & Behavioral Health Support: Collaborate with mental health providers to address emotional and psychiatric needs in children.
  • Vaccinations & Clinical Procedures: Administer vaccines, conduct EKGs, and assist pediatric providers in clinical treatments.
  • Emergency & Infection Control Preparedness: Ensure proper infection control practices, follow up on urgent medical cases, and maintain surgical supply inventory.
  • Care Coordination & Compliance: Maintain accurate medical records, follow up on referrals, and ensure compliance with regulatory and best practice standards.
Qualifications for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):
  • Licensure: Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New York State.
  • Certification: Valid First Aid and CPR certification required.
  • Experience: Pediatric experience required, with a background in child welfare environments preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AccuMed, phlebotomy, and clinical documentation systems.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with NYS Education Law regarding licensed healthcare professionals and mandated reporter training.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
