Job Overview – Licensed Practical Nurse (IDD Overnight):
Join our client's healthcare team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the IDD overnight shift. This role involves providing specialized care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including managing feeding tubes, administering medications, and responding to seizure activity.
Location: Dauphin County, PA Compensation: $42/hour
Schedule: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM (12-hour Night Shifts)
Responsibilities as the Licensed Practical Nurse:
Direct Care: Manage feeding tubes (GJ tubes), including cleaning and administration of medications and food.
Seizure Management: Administer rescue medications as needed and provide direct care during seizure activity.
Medication Administration: Perform large medication passes and manage treatments throughout the shift.
EMR Documentation: Utilize Net Smart for nurse notes, assessments, intakes, and vital signs documentation.
General Care: Provide general nursing care and support to residents with IDD.
Qualifications for the Licensed Practical Nurse:
Licensing: Must possess a current PA LPN license.
Experience: SNF background preferred; experience with IDD a plus.
Skills: Proficient in managing feeding tubes and administering medications; experience with EMR systems, particularly Net Smart.
Attributes: Detail-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks, and comfortable working overnight shifts.
