Licensed Practical Nurse | Assertive Community Treatment
Role Overview:
A nonprofit behavioral health organization is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a pioneering, court-based Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team serving Brooklyn adults coping with serious mental illness. Leveraging a flexible part-time schedule, you will provide recovery-focused nursing care, medication support, health education, assessments and coordination to vulnerable members in the community.
Compensation: $40.00 / HR Location: Brooklyn, New York Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm
Responsibilities:
• Administering oral/intramuscular medications
• Monitoring side effects and treatment adherence
• Conducting phlebotomy and assessments
• Delivering health education and counseling
• Documenting timely and accurate clinical notes
• Partnering with medical staff on care needs
• Liaising with hospitals and facilities
• Utilizing trauma-informed approaches
Qualifications:
• Licensed Practical Nurse certification
• 3+ years psychiatric nursing experience
• Strong clinical knowledge and judgement
• Empathetic team player and connector
• Comfort with community-based environments
• Value participant empowerment
