Job Overview - LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse):
Do you have experience in patient care? Our client is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their healthcare team in Long Island City. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care, supporting follow-up with clients, participating in community outreach, and ensuring clients receive timely and appropriate medical services.
Location: Long Island City, NY
Compensation: $42/hour
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (No Weekends)
Responsibilities as the LPN:
Patient Care: Conduct patient interviews and maintain medical records, including nursing observations, health history, vital signs, vision/hearing tests, medications, treatments, and test reactions.
Laboratory Duties: Perform in-house labs, collect specimens for outside labs, and perform quality control in accordance with organizational protocols.
Task Management: Complete and update all assigned tasks and logs; initiate follow-up as necessary as directed by the provider.
Health Education: Provide health teaching as indicated by the physician, diagnosis, and patient inquiries; direct patients to the Registered Nurse as necessary.
Data Collection: Collect data on patients under supervision, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols; may not triage or interpret clinical data independently.
Qualifications for the LPN:
Education: High school diploma or GED required; vocational/technical school diploma in nursing preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
Licensure: Valid New York State LPN License.
Certifications: CPR Certification required.
Language Skills: Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
