Job Description

Job Overview – LIS Analyst (Laboratory Information Systems Specialist):
Contribute to advancing laboratory services as an LIS Analyst in Philadelphia, PA, supporting our client in managing and maintaining their Laboratory Information System (LIS). In this flexible-schedule role, you’ll coordinate the implementation and ongoing optimization of integrated laboratory systems to enhance workflows, ensure accurate data management, and uphold compliance with security standards.

Compensation: $36/hour
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Flexible Shifts


Responsibilities as the LIS Analyst:
  • System Oversight: Manage the operation, installation, and maintenance of the LIS, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
  • Data Management: Maintain LIS tables, files, and dictionaries, ensuring accuracy and updates align with current laboratory standards.
  • Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with laboratory departments to design and revise systems that support efficient workflows and enhance service delivery.
  • Interface Development: Assist in developing and implementing instrument and system interfaces to optimize laboratory operations.
  • System Updates: Validate updates and changes to ensure performance and resolve any issues through vendor collaboration.
  • Training & Implementation: Develop and deliver training programs for LIS users and assist with the implementation of system updates and new interfaces.
Qualifications for the LIS Analyst:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or Chemistry required (second degree or coursework in computer science or MIS is preferred).
  • Experience: Proven experience in LIS programming, software testing, and interface design, with required healthcare experience such as HIPAA compliance or training, and a strong background in laboratory environments or healthcare projects.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Technical Knowledge: Expertise in system-to-system interfaces and software testing processes.
  • Requirements: Ability to travel within the city and perform all job-related functions.
