Job Overview – Housing Specialist (Case Manager):
Take on a vital role as a Housing Specialist (Case Manager) with our client in Philadelphia, PA, where you will assist clients in accessing housing resources, maintaining stable housing, and promoting self-sufficiency. This temporary position focuses on case management to help individuals achieve housing stability and independent living.

Compensation: $24/hour
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM


Responsibilities as the Housing Specialist:
  • Housing Support: Source affordable housing options for clients and assist with apartment hunting, landlord negotiations, and transitioning to independent living.
  • Client Assessment: Conduct initial assessments to collect comprehensive client histories and determine housing needs.
  • Resource Development: Build and maintain a resource directory for independent living sites tailored to client preferences.
  • Client Preparation: Facilitate group sessions to help clients prepare for independent living, covering topics like budgeting, home maintenance, and self-sufficiency.
  • Data Management: Track and analyze trends in client housing status to inform program improvements.
  • Client Assistance: Support clients in furnishing and organizing their living spaces and acquiring necessary household items.
Qualifications for the Housing Specialist:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Services, Healthcare, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in the mental health or substance abuse field, with a strong understanding of support systems.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, analytical skills, knowledge of mental health systems and housing resources, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Licensure: Valid driver’s license required.
  • Other Requirements: Local travel is required, including transporting program participants.
