Job Overview – Medical Assistant (Bilingual Spanish)
Compensation: $18 – $21/hour
Location: Tampa, FL
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Medical Assistant (Bilingual Spanish) in Tampa, FL for our client. In this in-office role, you will support front-office and clinical operations by assisting providers with patient care and patient flow, including intake, vitals, scheduling, insurance verification, clinical documentation, and support with referrals, labs, and medication refills. This role requires fluency in both Spanish and English with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and staff in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Responsibilities as the Medical Assistant (Bilingual Spanish):
Patient Intake & Front Office Support: Perform patient check-in and check-out, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and manage patient flow throughout the clinic.
Clinical Support & Rooming: Room patients, obtain and document vitals, and assist physicians with examinations and patient care as needed.
Administrative & Documentation Support: Maintain accurate patient records, update charts, manage appointment reminders, and support daily administrative workflows.
Referrals, Authorizations & Care Coordination: Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, lab coordination, and medication refill requests to support continuity of care.
Patient Communication & Service: Communicate clearly with patients in both English and Spanish, answer questions, and ensure patients feel informed and supported during their visit.
Qualifications for the Medical Assistant (Bilingual Spanish):
Language Requirement: Bilingual in Spanish and English required, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff in both languages.
Experience: 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient or clinical setting required.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with clinical workflows, patient intake, insurance verification, and electronic medical records, with nephrology experience preferred.
Skills & Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills, a patient-focused mindset, and the ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment.
