Job Overview – Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time) Compensation: $80 – $85/hour Location: Queens, NY Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday (In-Office)
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time) in Queens, NY for our client, supporting pediatric primary care services within a foster care healthcare environment. This role will provide preventive care, chronic disease management, acute care evaluations, and health coordination services for pediatric and adolescent patients while partnering closely with physicians, nursing staff, and social service professionals. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and experienced within pediatric clinical environments.
Responsibilities as the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner:
Pediatric Primary Care: Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations, physical examinations, and preventive healthcare services for pediatric and adolescent patients.
Chronic & Acute Care Management: Evaluate and manage acute illnesses, chronic health conditions, and treatment plans while documenting care appropriately.
Preventive Health Services: Administer immunizations, order and interpret diagnostic testing, and provide health education and illness prevention counseling.
Care Coordination: Coordinate with physicians, specialists, mental health providers, foster care teams, and external healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.
Documentation & Compliance: Maintain timely and accurate medical records, reports, referrals, and required healthcare documentation.
Patient & Family Support: Provide guidance and support to patients, foster parents, caregivers, and interdisciplinary care teams regarding healthcare needs and treatment plans.
Qualifications for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner:
Education: Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program is required.
Certifications: Active New York State RN and Nurse Practitioner licenses are required. Medicaid and Medicare enrollment is required.
Experience: Prior pediatric clinical experience is required, while pediatric RN experience is strongly preferred for newer graduates.
Industry Knowledge: Experience within pediatrics, adolescent medicine, foster care populations, or related pediatric healthcare environments is preferred.
Technical Skills: Experience working with EMR systems and clinical documentation platforms is preferred.
Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, empathy, organizational abilities, and the ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary care teams are required.
