Job Overview – Registered Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse (Overnight, IDD Care)
Compensation: $42 – $56/hour (Dependent on Experience)
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Schedule: Overnight Shift | 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM or 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM | Per Diem


TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Registered Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse (IDD Care) in Pittsburgh, PA with our client. This per diem mobile role provides nursing support across multiple group homes serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, wound care, vital sign monitoring, and coordination with physicians and clinical teams. Strong clinical judgment, accurate documentation, and the ability to work independently are essential.

Responsibilities as the Registered Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse (IDD):
  • Direct Nursing Care: Provide bedside care, assessments, vitals, wound care, and medication administration for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities.
  • Clinical Monitoring & Documentation: Evaluate changes in condition, complete daily health checks, and maintain accurate, compliant medical records.
  • Care Coordination: Communicate with physicians, clinics, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate appointments, follow-up care, and treatment needs.
  • Travel-Based Support: Visit multiple group homes during each shift to assess residents, support staff, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Medication & Safety Compliance: Manage medications, follow all program protocols, and promote a safe, supportive environment for residents and staff.
Qualifications for the Registered Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse (IDD):
  • Licensure: Active Pennsylvania RN or LPN license required.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in IDD, home care, hospice, long-term care, case management, or a related community-based setting preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in basic computer applications including Outlook, Word, and electronic documentation systems.
  • Skills & Attributes: Compassionate, patient-centered professional with strong assessment skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently across multiple sites.
  • Other Requirements: Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and reliable vehicle required; driving between homes is an essential part of the role.
