Job Overview – Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP):
Compensation: $96/hour
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM


TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Philadelphia, PA for our client. In this urgent care role, you’ll provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and crisis intervention within a recovery-focused environment. Working alongside a psychiatrist and multidisciplinary team, you’ll deliver compassionate, evidence-based care that supports mental health stabilization and long-term recovery.

Responsibilities as the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP):
  • Patient Evaluation: Conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and risk assessments for patients in crisis or urgent care settings.
  • Treatment Planning: Create and manage individualized care plans, adjusting interventions based on clinical needs.
  • Clinical Interventions: Provide medication management, crisis stabilization, and behavioral health support.
  • Collaboration: Work with psychiatrists, therapists, and care coordinators to ensure integrated, continuous care.
  • Documentation: Complete accurate, timely documentation in EHR systems in accordance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP):
  • Education: Master’s degree in Nursing with a concentration in Psychiatric-Mental Health required.
  • Certification: Certified Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with prescriptive authority required.
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted Pennsylvania RN and NP licenses required.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in crisis intervention, urgent care, community mental health, or emergency psychiatric settings.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and digital clinical documentation tools.
  • Skills & Attributes: Compassionate, adaptable mental health professional with strong communication and clinical decision-making skills, dedicated to patient-centered, team-based care.
