Job Overview – Night Shift RN (Pediatric IDD):
Compensation: $42 – $45/hour
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday – Three 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)


Join our client’s residential care team in Philadelphia, PA as a Night Shift Registered Nurse, providing overnight care for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves tracheostomy and ventilator management, central line care, and clinical oversight for 2–3 children per shift. Ideal candidates have pediatric nursing experience, a strong understanding of developmental care, and the ability to work independently without on-site respiratory support.

Responsibilities as the Night Shift RN (Pediatric IDD):
  • Specialized Pediatric Care: Provide overnight clinical care for medically fragile children, including trach and vent management, central line care, and medication administration.
  • Assessment & Coordination: Monitor patient conditions, contribute to care planning (IPPs), and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and families.
  • Emergency Response & Oversight: Recognize health status changes, initiate interventions, and contact on-call administrators as needed.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Complete shift reports, incident documentation, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Support & Supervision: Educate families, supervise LPNs and childcare staff, and participate in transports and appointments as necessary.
Qualifications for the Night Shift RN (Pediatric IDD):
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania is required.
  • Certification: Current infant/child CPR certification is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in pediatric tracheostomy and ventilator care without respiratory therapist support is required (prior home care or residential experience is preferred).
  • Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong clinical judgment, compassion, and communication skills, with the ability to provide developmentally appropriate care in a pediatric setting.
  • Additional Requirements: A valid driver’s license is required, along with a willingness to work in a family-style home environment and support children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
