Job Overview – Occupational Therapist (Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities):
Compensation: $56 – $71/hour
Location: Hershey, PA
Schedule: Part-time, 20 hours/week


TAG MedStaffing is hiring an Occupational Therapist (Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities) in Hershey, PA for our client. In this role, you will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to enhance independence and improve quality of life. You’ll conduct evaluations, develop personalized treatment plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote functional progress and community integration.

Responsibilities as the Occupational Therapist:
  • Evaluation & Treatment Planning: Conduct assessments and create individualized therapy plans to support physical, sensory, and functional development.
  • Therapy Implementation: Provide evidence-based interventions to enhance fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
  • Adaptive Equipment & Orthotics: Recommend and monitor adaptive devices, orthotics, and assistive technologies to promote independence.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with caregivers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and effective care.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate therapy records, progress notes, and reports in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards.
Qualifications for the Occupational Therapist:
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program required.
  • Licensure: Active OTR/L license in the state of Pennsylvania required.
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR systems and familiarity with therapy documentation standards.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of therapeutic techniques, sensory integration, and functional skill development for individuals with IDD.
  • Skills & Attributes: Compassionate, patient, and collaborative professional with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
