Job Overview – Bilingual Youth Counselor (Foster Care):
Compensation: $28/hour
Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday


TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Bilingual Youth Counselor (Foster Care) in the Bronx, NY for our client. This community-based role supports adolescents in foster care through in-person home visits, crisis intervention, and skill-building services. You will partner with youth, treatment parents, and interdisciplinary teams to implement behavior plans, promote independent living skills, and deliver trauma-informed, strength-based care in compliance with ACS standards.

Responsibilities as the Bilingual Youth Counselor (Foster Care):
  • Youth & Foster Home Support: Conduct required in-person home visits to support youth care, ADLs, life skills development, and behavior plan implementation.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain timely, accurate documentation including progress notes, assessments, and behavior plans in accordance with ACS requirements.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide direct crisis intervention and de-escalation support, coordinating with supervisors and interdisciplinary teams as needed.
  • Behavioral Planning & Collaboration: Partner with youth, treatment parents, and caseworkers to develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior goals.
  • Youth Development & Coordination: Support youth development initiatives, including PYA activities, community referrals, and coordination of educational and recreational resources.
Qualifications for the Bilingual Youth Counselor (Foster Care):
  • Language Requirement: Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field required.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with children and adolescents required, with direct foster care or child welfare experience strongly preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with ACS standards, youth development frameworks, and trauma-informed care practices.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to engage adolescents and build rapport with families, and a collaborative, solution-focused approach.
