Job Overview – Part-Time Group Therapist (Behavioral Health):
Compensation: $32 – $35/hour
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Part-Time, 3 days per week


TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Part-Time Group Therapist (Behavioral Health) in Boston, MA, for our client. In this role, you’ll deliver evidence-based group therapy using CBT, DBT, and ACT to support patient recovery and resilience. You’ll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and ensure compliant, timely clinical documentation. Ideal for clinicians seeking impactful part-time work in a mission-driven behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities as the Part-Time Group Therapist:
  • Group Facilitation: Lead evidence-based group therapy sessions using CBT, DBT, ACT, and related modalities.
  • Collaborative Care: Coordinate treatment plans with interdisciplinary teams including clinicians and external providers.
  • Clinical Documentation: Maintain timely and accurate progress notes, treatment plans, and EHR documentation in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Patient Engagement: Cultivate a safe, trauma-informed therapeutic environment that promotes participation and skill-building.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide support in crisis situations, including risk assessment and conflict resolution during group sessions.
Qualifications for the Part-Time Group Therapist:
  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field; actively pursuing state licensure preferred.
  • Experience: At least 1 year in PHP, IOP, inpatient, or similar settings, with proven experience leading therapeutic groups and managing crises.
  • Technical Skills: Comfortable using electronic health record (EHR) systems and digital platforms such as Zoom and Slack.
  • Skills & Attributes: Culturally competent, skilled in rapport-building, and committed to serving diverse, high-acuity populations including Medicaid clients.
